Sirocco (1951) – Original Belgian Poster

A superb original Belgian first-release cinema poster for Sirocco, the atmospheric romantic thriller starring Humphrey Bogart, Märta Torén and Lee J. Cobb.

This striking Belgian design is dominated by an exceptionally strong painted portrait of Bogart, cigarette in hand, surrounded by imagery of Torén and the film’s exotic Damascus setting. Its rich colours and bold yellow title make it one of the most visually impressive international posters created for the film.

The poster retains its original period cinema programme imprint for the Ideal Cinema in Ghent, recording a screening engagement from 13 to 19 June. This wonderful piece of exhibition history gives the poster additional character and provenance.
