Rio Bravo (1959) – Original French Moyenne, 1964 Re-Release

A superb original French cinema poster for the 1964 re-release of Rio Bravo, Howard Hawks’ celebrated Western starring John Wayne, Dean Martin and Ricky Nelson.

Created by renowned French poster artist Jean Mascii, this striking design places John Wayne at the centre of the action, Winchester in hand, against the bold red Rio Bravo title. Smaller scenes of Wayne surrounded by fallen gunmen reinforce the poster’s dramatic Western imagery, while the warm yellow, red and blue palette gives the artwork particularly strong visual appeal.
