Intermezzo (1936) – Original Swedish Three-Panel Cinema Poster
A magnificent original Swedish country-of-origin cinema poster for Intermezzo, directed by Gustaf Molander and featuring a young Ingrid Bergman in one of her most important early roles.
Designed by celebrated Swedish poster artist Eric Rohman, this monumental composition is dominated by Gösta Ekman’s concert violinist, set against a rich blue background with Ingrid Bergman and Ekman portrayed together on the right. The musical detailing incorporated into the striking Intermezzo title gives the design a particularly elegant Art Deco character.
The poster was printed in three separate sections designed to overlap when displayed. Each section was folded once only, and the three panels are now stored and supplied rolled together.
